Mature K1 Media

Mature K1 media which has been in the system for over 6 months to be fully matured. This will be the best product for fluidised systems. Nitrico Goop is a concentrated mature colony of nitrifying bacteria. Our bacterial culture is grown in a bio-secure facility and fed a synthetic replica of fish waste to ensure that no fish pathogens can be transferred.

Following an increase in production, we are now in a position to offer the product to pond keepers. Our bacterial goop and mature K1 media can be added straight to your filter and instantly boost your nitrifying bacteria to minimise ammonia and nitrite spikes.

It is ideal when starting a new pond, boosting your filter in the spring as you start to up the feed rate or when adding more fish. It can also help to boost the filter after treating your fish as many treatments can knock the filter bacteria levels.
 
Due to the variables with filtration, temperature and biomass in ponds, it is not possible for us to offer instant cycle packs in the same way that we can with aquariums but, if you add enough bacteria, the pH is above 7 and the temperature is above 10 deg C. it is possible to instantly cycle any pond.
 

If you are using a moving bed of media, turn the system off for 2 hours when adding the media and if you have a drum then, if you are able to, please bypass the drum for 24 hours, this will prevent any excess bacteria from being immediately removed from the system. UV should be switched off for 48 hours after adding this media. If you require advice on how best to administer the K1, please drop us a message or give us a call.

Our other product Goop is not suitable for moving bed filters as the action quickly removed the bacteria, this is why we sell this mature K1, this has been in our bio reactor for a minimum of 6 months.
